Director – VSX Safety & Security
Highly regarded as a specialist within the Convention, Exhibition and Live event sectors, Eddie has been involved in the Security, Medical and Emergency Management planning to some of the largest conferences and events within Australia such as APEC, ASEAN, Robocup, Sydney International Boat Show and World Youth Day to name a few.
With over 20 years’ experience, Eddie has been involved in the development of Security and Emergency/Crisis Management frameworks for multi-national companies which has lead to invitations as a guest speaker to security, counter-terrorism and crisis management conferences within Australia, Singapore and London.
Prior to establishing VSX Safety & Security and its sister security guarding firm Vital Protection Group, Eddie was part of the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre security team in the role of Security & Emergency Manager, focused on overseeing over 1100 events per year from local, international, government and various business events, building security operations, security technologies, access control, traffic, logistics and carpark operations. Through a stringent focus on training and upskilling of staff in security and emergency response skills, Eddie had guided his staff into being awarded the “Best Inhouse Security Team” nationally.
Eddie is an alumni of Swinburne University of Technology with postgraduate qualifications in Emergency and Disaster Management, Advanced Diploma in Management, Diploma in Quality Auditing, Diploma in Training and Assessment, Diploma in Security & Risk Management, Diploma in Project Management, Cert IV in Healthcare (Ambulance) & Cert IV in Work Health & Safety.
Eddie is a licensed Security Consultant, Security Trainer, Advanced First Aid Trainer and a Qualified Fire Safety Advisor.
In 2023, Eddie launched Australia’s First Venue / Event Safety & Security Conference (VSX 2023) as the Chairperson, which focuses on the safety, security and resilience of major venues and events. The Venue Safety & Security Exchange conference (VSX) is held annually attracting some of the biggest names in the event space throughout Australia.
Eddie is a past Chairperson of ASIS International the largest Security Association globally and still a member. He is an Accredited Venue Manager through the Venue Management Association (VMA) a member of the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), a member of Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) and a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
